This scheme extends and reconfigures a mid-terraced Victorian property to create a spacious and light filled contemporary home for a young family.
The existing living space was cramped with a poor connection to the garden and an old kitchen extension in need of updating. We designed a full width rear extension to connect the living space with the kitchen and to bring light and air into the centre of the property.
Oversized glass roof panels on the side of the extension and bi-folding doors spanning the full width of the property at the rear create a light filled family space and enhance views to the rear garden.
The bespoke joinery was designed by kaap studio architects in close collaboration with the client to create a balanced and uniform result. A simple material palette of oak floors, white and light grey joinery and glass creates a minimalist aesthetic throughout the home.
