kaap studio architects prepared this feasibility study for a two storey detached family home on a quiet residential street in Hertfordshire. Forming a side and rear extension, the proposed addition expands the existing kitchen area with an adjacent new utility room and open plan sitting and dining area for the enjoyment of the family and entertaining guests.
The proposed pleated roof provides a strong focal point created by a simple geometric shape stretching across the full extend of the extension . Large glass panes of glass with minimal framing across the rear extension provide unobstructed views to the garden while thoughtful design of the roof enables shading for minimising heat gain.
Strategically located glass roof lights maximise natural light in all living areas.
